Baked French Toast With Apples and Pecans

Ingredients

  • 1 lb loaf of Italian bread
  • 12 eggs
  • 3 cups milk
  • 1 tbsp cinnamon
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup pecans
  • 2 cups apples

Instructions

Grease a 9×13 baking dish.

In a bowl mix 12 eggs, 3 cups of milk, 1 tablespoon of cinnamon, and 1 cup of brown sugar.

Dice 1 pound loaf of Italian bread into bite sized pieces.

Dice 2 cups of apples.

To the baking dish add 1/2 of the diced bread.

On top of the bread add 1/2 cup of pecans and 1 cup of diced apples.

Add the remaining 1/2 pound of bread.

Top with the remain 1/2 cup of pecans and 1 cup of diced apple.

Mix eggs again and pour over top of the bread, apples, and pecans.

Push down bread so that each piece is wet.

Put into a 350 degree oven and bake for 60-75 minutes until there is no remaining liquid.

Serves 12.

Freezes well, uncooked.

Or make ahead and bake the next day.
