- 1/2 cup fat (butter, sausage, or bacon fat)
- 3 tbsp flour
- 1 tbsp corn starch
- 4 cups milk
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp pepper

In a frying pan, brown 1/2 pound of sausage over medium heat.
Add 1/2 cup of fat (either sausage fat, bacon fat, or butter depending on the flavor you’d prefer) to the pan.
Once the fat is heated add 3 tablespoons of flour and 1 tablespoon of corn starch.
Stir flour and corn starch into the fat and sausage until completely dissolved.
Add 4 cups of milk to the pan and mix well.
Bring mixture to a simmer and reduce heat to low.
Stir occasionally.
Once gravy begins to thicken add 1/2 teaspoon of salt, 1/2 teaspoon of pepper and 1/2 teaspoon of garlic powder.
Mix seasonings in well.
Continue to cook on low heat until desired thickness is reached.
