Sweet Chili Chicken Wings

Ingredients

  • 3 lbs chickens wings
  • 1 10 oz bottle of sweet chili sauce
  • 1 tbsp garlic powder

Instructions

Does this count as a recipe? I’m not sure but I’m counting it.

In a baking dish lay out your chicken wings.

Sprinkle 1 tbsp garlic powder over the top.

Dump 1 10 oz bottle of sweet chili sauce over the top of that.

Mix everything together so that the chicken wings are completely coated.

Cover with foil or saran wrap.

Leave sitting out on the counter for at least 30 minutes. I have left them sitting out for as long as 2 hours.

There are 2 reasons you do this. The first is to get the chicken up to room temperature so that that it cooks more evenly. The second is to let the flavor soak into the chicken.

After you’ve let your chicken sit out for 30 (or more) minutes you will put it in the oven at 350 degrees for about 30 minutes.

I like the skin on my chicken wings to be a little crispy so after they’ve cooked for 30 minutes I like to kick on the broiler for 2-3 minutes.

Serves 5-6.
